According to a new UN report, global heating will reach at least 1.8 degrees Celsius, even in the best-case scenario. The authors warn that "there are no good outcomes above 1.5 degrees Celsius."
It has been online since 1st July, is single-user (just me), and runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero W powered by NetBSD, directly on its SD card.
It consumes just under 1W.
Its database is this size:

Its average CPU load is extremely low.
It is perfectly usable both from the web interface and from Mastodon API apps.

I’ve used Herdr instead of tmux for the past few days and I still really like it!
The things I don’t like are all about quickly jumping to stuff by kb:
- No command to show pane numbers (tmux: prefix+q) and jump
- Named tabs can’t show a number, and you can’t pin numbers (e.g. dev console at 8)

Not sure how forcing a school to turn into an Academy makes it less shit? Or maybe it just excludes the shit school from the Ofsted stats so it can look like "schools" are doing better? 😆

I wonder what their processes are for this. I suspect they’re using the precedent set by China. Windows, I think, was the first to capitulate and show Taiwan as part of China on maps (originally just the time-zone selector: operating systems didn’t come with maps back then) for the versions sold in China. Apple and Google both do the same, I believe.
If a country has some legal naming or makes claims on some territory outside its borders, they display those names and borders in the version for that country.
I am not sure if Trump has the legal authority to make this kind of change (I don’t even know what the process is for changing the legal name of a geographic feature in my own country) but if he does then it’s at least self consistent.
It’s not feasible for a US company that has already capitulated to the PRC on a specific issue to then make a stand against the US government on exactly the same issue.
None of this contradicts your point. If they are willing to give in to unreasonable demands from the Chinese and US governments, what other demands will they give in to?

The Register has changed its RSS feeds, to something using api.theregister.com.
I can't find any documentation for their API, to work out the query to get back to what I previously had, which is a shame.
Previously, I had a simple RSS feed of all the articles by one particular author, which was rather good.
